Soprano Sarah Hennessey

is delighted be a Young Artist at Landlocked Opera, where she will sing Violetta in La traviata and Laetitia in The Old Maid and the Thief in their 2021-2022 season.

Sarah was most recently seen in Opera Maine's production of L'elisir d'amore, where she was the study cover for Adina. Early 2021 also brought Ms. Hennessey success in scenes as Susannah, Mimì, and Cio-Cio San at William Jewell College, where she is a participant in the new Artist Diploma Program under the tutelage of Grammy Award-Winning Baritone Daniel Belcher and Metropolitan Opera Director Kathleen Belcher. Sarah also sang the role of Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) in their inaugural production this past fall.

Other roles include Tytania (A Midsummer Night's Dream), Cunegonde (Candide), Norina (Don Pasquale), Cinderella (Into the Woods), Nannetta (Falstaff) and Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro). Ms. Hennessey has performed standard and new repertoire as a young artist at Seagle Music Colony and is an alumna of The Boston Conservatory and The University of Kansas.

Ms. Hennessey is also in the early workshop stages for Boston composer Marc Hoffeditz's new work Thank You for Having Me (Today), an opera highlighting the career of Kellyanne Conway, in which she sings the title role. In early 2022, Sarah will sing her first Contessa in Nozze at William Jewell. Originally from Kansas City, she splits her time between her hometown and Boston.
